Safety

Your safety is our first priority and hence we keep the premises under surveillance and nobody enters the premises without prior permission or notice.

Since our premises are surrounded by forest, hills, plants and a beautiful lotus pond there are mosquitoes. We request you to carry the repellent cream with you. Every room has the proper facility to keep the mosquitos away.

We do have a few basic medical care facilities like paracetamol, pain balms available for, we still recommend you to carry all that you think you might need to keep yourself healthy.

Since finding the hygiene products that you get in your country might be in itself a task, we recommend you to bring your own safety/hygiene products (pads/tampax etc..)

The power points in India are Type D and hence please bring your adapters accordingly to plug in your devices and use them safely.

Travel Tips

Most European citizens require a valid visa to enter India, including Mysore. The appropriate visa category for tourism is the "Tourist Visa." Applying for your visa well before your intended travel date is important, as the processing times can vary

To apply for an Indian Tourist Visa, follow these steps:

  • Online Application: Visit the official website of the Indian Visa Online Application Centre (https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html) and complete the online application form.
  • Required Documents: You’ll need a valid passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of arrival in India, a recent passport-sized photograph, and details of your travel itinerary.
  • Payment: Pay the visa fee online per the fee structure applicable to your nationality.
  • Appointment: Schedule an appointment at the nearest Indian Embassy, Consulate, or Visa Application Centre to submit your biometric data (if required) and relevant documents.
  • Tourist Visa: You can also apply for an E-Tourist Visa. This would be available within 4-7 working days most often. You can also apply for an E-Tourist Visa by choosing the ‘Short Term Yoga Program. You can also get this E-Tourist Visa for 30 days/One Year/Five Years. Extensions of tourist visas within India are generally not allowed.
  • Important: E-visa must be applied at least four days before the arrival date. Applying for a ‘Student Visa’ for short-term yoga courses is not required. Do not apply for a student visa if you are coming to attend Yoga teacher training at Samyut Yoga.
  • A student visa is only available for students attending official universities or colleges. We cannot provide you with the documents for a student visa application because yoga ashrams are not considered official colleges in India. If your student visa gets rejected, not only will your visa application get rejected, you might not even be allowed to apply for a tourist visa after that.

Insurance

  •  It’s recommended to have comprehensive health and travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen events. You can check the details of insurance here: https://www.internationalinsurance.com/travel-to/india.php
  • Consult your healthcare provider for recommended vaccinations before traveling to India. Common vaccinations include hepatitis A and B, typhoid, and tetanus. It’s also wise to inquire about any health advisories related to the region.

CLOTHING

  • For your yoga practice at our school, we recommend wearing comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for free movement.

  • Light, moisture-wicking fabrics are ideal, especially in India’s warm climate. It’s a good idea to bring a mix of layers to accommodate varying weather conditions and indoor environments.

  • Additionally, a sun hat and sunglasses can be useful for outdoor activities.

MEDICAL CARE

  • When traveling to India for our yoga school, it is essential to have comprehensive travel medical insurance, as healthcare facilities can vary in quality.

  • We advise consulting with your healthcare provider before departure to discuss any necessary vaccinations or medications.

  • In case of any medical emergencies, we have access to reliable local healthcare services and can assist you in receiving appropriate care.

  • It is important to inform our staff about any pre-existing medical conditions or special requirements so that we can ensure your stay is safe and comfortable. Additionally, bringing a basic first aid kit and any personal medications is highly recommended.
